Description

Feel the hairs on your neck stand up as you fight to control this authentic Ex military workhorse. We are not exaggerating, without power steering, ABS or traction control you will you will have to rely on your own muscle power to get you through.

You will drive the Bedford MJ on the notorious Manby Motorplex off road terrain which covers 100 plus acres. There is no set course, the route you take will depend on your stamina and ability, hopefully, you won`t get stuck in the mud. This really is a great activity, you will be amazed at what this huge vehicle can handle - steep climbs, ruts, stomach churning descents are just some of the hazards you will encounter on the course. Don`t worry too much you will have an experienced instructor by your side, but it`s you who will be at the controls of this seriously amazing military hard ware.

Things you need to know

Restrictions - You must be fit, able bodied and 17 year of age or over. Driving activities such as 4x4 Off Roading may not be suitable for those with heart, back or neck conditions, nor if you are pregnant. You must be fit enough to enable you to climb into a high cab. We can give you some help if need be. Maximum weight is 114kg (18stone), maximum height 1.93m (6ft 4"0, minimum height 1.57m (5ft2"). If you do not fit inside these measurements please contact our office as we may be able to accommodate you with prior notice. A full valid UK or European driving licence will need to be brought and shown on the day. If you are not 100% able bodied but feel you could drive this vehicle safely then please call us to check if this is possible.

Other Information

Availability - This activity is run on weekdays and weekends throughout the year, with various start times both morning and afternoon.

Duration - A minimum of 1 hour in the vehicle with you behind the wheel for the whole course. There is a briefing beforehand and debrief after the driving session followed by the presentation of a certificate. You will be at the venue for a minimum of one and a half hours.

Numbers - This is an exclusive event with one-to-one tuition. There is no cab room for your spectators but they are welcome to follow your progress at a safe distance. If you wish, during your activity your spectators can drive the vehicle.

Spectator Information:

Guests are welcome and we encourage spectators to get as close to the action as safely possible, however we do ask that all guests are pre-booked. Refreshments (tea/coffee/hot chocolate/orange/biscuits) will be available free of charge for yourself and 3 guests. We charge £5 for extra spectators.
