Description

This superb one day course gives you the opportunity to learn all about the functions of the steam train and to actually take to the controls.

Drive through some of the most interesting countryside in Norfolk along a nine mile narrow gauge line. This practical one day course will teach the principles on which a steam locomotive works, allowing you to take to the controls for a full nine mile stretch of track. During your experience you will learn the skills of signalling and braking. The course also includes lunch and a course manual.

Things you need to know

The experience starts at 8.45am. The experience will last until 5.15pm including coffee breaks and lunch.

Other Information

To take part in this experience you need to be physically fit and able to climb on and off board the locomotive. All participants need to be over 18 years of age.

Spectator Information:

Spectators are welcome at either Aylsham or Wroxham stations (where the train will depart or arrive), however they will not be able to board the train being driven by the learners on the course.
