Description

Your day will start with a welcome drink and introductory video. During the day you can enjoy a guided tour of the locomotive works and signal box.

The observation trip is in the front cab of a Diesel Multiple Unit train (DMU) where participants and their guests get a panoramic view of the line ahead and the location of signals and points of interest. This takes place before participants board the footplate of a main line steam engine on which they will share a 16 mile drive.

At your complimentary lunch you can choose from daily specials or all day breakfast. You will also receive an information pack including a guide to the railway and locomotive notes as well as your own magnificent commemorative certificate.

Things you need to know

This experience lasts approximately 6 to 7 hours and runs on Saturdays & Sundays throughout the year. The start is 8.30am or 9.30am.

There are no extra charges for VAT or postage. Accident and Cancellation Insurance is also included.

Other Information

This experience is open to anyone over the age of 18 with good vision and hearing. There is a fair bit of walking and standing up during the course and participants must be mobile enough to comfortably climb and descend the vertical steps up the side of the locomotive.

Spectator Information:

One complimentary guest train ticket is included. Additional guests will need to pay a train travel fee of £8.00. Refreshments are also available to guests for an additional fee.
